An expat family living in Hong Kong, with the intention of moving to Park City full time when the home is completed.
Because this is a modern home in the mountains, it was important for the home to feel warm and cozy, as opposed to cold and austere. We selected a harmonious blend of earth elements for the foundational surfaces, including wood, glass, concrete, hot-rolled steel and limestone. We brought warmth into the spaces through the use of layered natural textiles including soft, buttery leathers, hand woven linen and wool textures to add layers of coziness and create a seamless harmony between the landscape and the interiors. Jonna sourced several nubby hand woven wool rugs from Morocco specifically for this house, which bring pops of color and ethic stories to the residence.
This was a new build in the mountains of Park City. We demolished the original structure and used the existing foundation to build an open, modern home to take advantage of the spectacular, sweeping views across Park City and beyond.
